Original model by the Blender Foundation Converted to ReTHAWed by huckleberrypie
The Utah teapot is a standard reference test model used in 3D modelling. The teapot is the CGI equivalent of a "Hello, World!" program and an easy way to set up a relatively complex scene for a light setup, to the point that graphics libraries provide a built-in teapot API call. Its ubiquity has led to it becoming an in-joke within the computer graphics community.
I did this mostly to test environment map and blending passes for custom characters and levels, and basically as a humorous response to EnergyFlamer's error.mdl skater mod since they've been making similar joke mods lately.
